Counselling in Central London and Portsmouth

Please find listed below some of the questions that I am frequently asked and my answers that I hope might be useful for you. If there is anything else you wish to know, please do not hesitate to contact me on 07527532600 or KEN@KCTHERAPY.CO.UK

What happens in our first meeting?
In your first session we will explore what has brought you to therapy and work together to understand your difficulties at present. If you feel comfortable you might tell me about your background and a little bit about your life. This will give me a good understanding of your needs and what treatment I can offer you. You will have the chance to ask any questions you may have around therapy and to see if psychotherapy and counselling is right for you. We can then both discuss our ideas and see if I am the right therapist for you.

Here are some questions you might like to reflect on before your initial consultation:
How is your current issue effecting your life right now?
What would you like to achieve from coming to therapy?
Have you had therapy before and if so was it a good experience?
If you have had a bad therapy experience what would you like to be different this time?
Please take some time if you are able to have some questions ready for me to enable you to get the best out of my service.

How often should I come?
Sessions are normally once a week, at the same time and day. However I can be flexible to meet your needs.

How to contact the service?
To make an appointment please call 07527532600 or email me at KEN@KCTHERAPY.CO.UK I will endeavor to get back to you as soon as I can.

How long will therapy take for me to feel better?
This will depend on the issues that you need to address in therapy. Some may be general, some are specific, some complex and others simpler. Simpler issues that you need to address may respond well to short – term therapy lasting 6 to 12 weeks. Those issues that are more complex may take anything from 6 months to two years. The length of time for your therapy is something that we can discuss in the first session.

How long is a therapy session?
Sessions last for 50 minutes.

What are your fees?
My fee is £45 to £50 an hour

Please be aware that any missed session will be charged at my full rate (except for your planned holidays).

Mindfulness Testimonials

"I've been working with Ken for the past two and a half years. During this time we have had weekly meetings, the majority of which have been via Skype with a few taking place face to face. The experience of talking via Skype and face to face does not vary greatly as Ken always works in a space that is suited to our work. This is testament to Ken's skills and his commitment to our work. For those that need to work remotely I can recommend this an option." (Skype Client, Director, Dubai)
"I had been a client of Kenneth’s for over two years when, due to a change of job, I had to move to London. Since then I’ve been having my sessions by Skype. Before I started these sessions, I had been a little concerned that it would feel different, or less personal somehow, to have therapy that wasn’t face to face. However, I have been surprised by how natural it feels to have a session this way, and how the sense of really being listened to and understood transcends the medium which we are using to communicate. My weekly therapy is an invaluable part of my life and my weekly routine, and now I have the convenience of having it from my own room, and to be able to communicate with Kenneth, wherever he is in the world.” ( Skype Client, Artist, London)
